Fall Festivities

Nothing says fall like Halloween and cider making. This is the time when things start to turn brown and we get to take a breath after a long season on the farm. The end to the drought came but brought along enough rain to split many of the late fall apples that were still ripening on the trees. Then a windstorm knocked loads of apples to the ground. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. In our case, when life gives you dropped apples, you make cider! Fallen apples are also a great treat for the chickens and goats.

We don’t get many trick-or-treaters out in the country but we appreciate when our friends and neighbors bring their kids by. We also had an extra fun event this year: a Harry Potter themed dinner at Natural Vibes. It was stupendous! We love Beatrice!
